Candy's Vintage Clothing was founded in 1977, springing to life inside an old, abandoned chicken coop. In the twenty plus years since, it has grown into Boulder's resource for vintage clothing, costumes, retro accessories, and much, much more.

Candy brings a lifetime of love and experience to her store. She grew up wearing her grandmother's flapper dresses, realizing that beauty and quality never go out of style. She grew to love costumes in her experience as a dancer. Her mother made all of her dance outfits, which taught her the care and skill that go into creating apparel. She applied this knowledge by making clothes for her dolls. Candy's grandmother was a world traveler, and she too inspired her love of fashion, filling her home with clothes and jewelry from around the world.

Candy's love blossomed as she grew older. She attended Stephen's College, where she majored in Fashion Design. She practiced her trade in Chicago for several years afterwards.

Eventually, Candy arrived in Boulder, Colorado, where she collected unusual and vintage clothing and furniture and repaired and resold it. She founded her store in 1977, and in 1978 moved into the building she still occupies today.
